The Banda Folk di Castello Tesino was born in 1901 through the will of Martino Braus and spans 120 years of history marked by epochal challenges: the destruction of the Great War, reconstruction with Bohemian instruments, the golden period under Maestro Anacleto Flacco, and post-war renaissance. Since 2003 it has been led by Maestro Ivan Villanova, achieving international successes like the Best Popularity Award in Shanghai in 2018.
Since 1981 we proudly wear the traditional Tesino dress, a unique heritage born from the travels of "crömeri" and "perteganti" merchants who for centuries brought from their European peregrinations colorful shawls, garnets from Carinthia, French velvets. Every fabric tells the story of a commercial tradition passed down from mother to daughter for four centuries, symbol of a refined social competition.
Our repertoire maintains a deep connection with the tradition of Tyrolean Musikkapellen, spanning from Central European Böhmische Blasmusik to quality concert compositions. We don't chase momentary trends: we believe in sociality through music, always prioritizing the search for ideal sound and instrumental blend to preserve a cultural heritage that unites tradition with artistic innovation.
